The Cloud One Rooftop Bar: a drink facing the Kö-Bogen

In the heart of the shopping district

The Cloud One hotel occupies a glass building designed by the architecture firm behind the Kö-Bogen II, on Joachim-Erwin-Platz, where Schadowstraße, the Kö-Bogen and the top of the Königsallee meet. The entrance is in the pedestrian zone; a lift goes up to the 7th floor, where the bar is located.

The lounge room, with its curved walls, its moss wall and its cascading light fittings, opens onto a wooden terrace that runs along the glazed façade, with wicker armchairs and parasols. The view plunges down onto Schadowstraße and the famous hornbeam façade of the Kö-Bogen II, then sweeps over the roofs and church spires of the centre. In cool weather, the room's large picture windows offer the same panorama under cover.

Classic cocktails and small bites

The menu is short and simple: sours, mules, Negroni and Espresso Martini between €13 and €15, mocktails at €9.50, build-your-own long drinks, wines and a few snacks to nibble on. The venue welcomes hotel guests as well as people from Düsseldorf and passing visitors: you go up on the spur of the moment, depending on available seats. In the morning, the hotel serves its breakfast here.

Practical information

Bar open every day from 1pm, until 1am Sunday to Thursday and until 2am on Friday and Saturday. Terrace in fine weather, glazed room all year round. No reservations: you just turn up. U-Bahn and tram Schadowstraße right in front of the hotel; no car park of its own, several underground car parks nearby.
