MIA Restobar: the MedienHafen seen from the 16th floor

In the coloured tower of the MedienHafen

A former port converted into a district of contemporary architecture, the MedienHafen lines up along the water the creations of great names in architecture, including Frank Gehry's undulating towers. Among its landmarks, the Colorium is recognisable by its façade of multicoloured glass panels. The tower houses the INNSiDE by Meliá Düsseldorf Hafen hotel, whose 16th floor is home to the MIA Restobar, opened after the renovation of the former panoramic bar The View.

A view of the harbour and the Rheinturm

The room's picture windows look onto the harbour basin and its boats, Gehry's undulating buildings, the Rheinturm and, further away, the roofs of the city. A few yellow and blue glass panels of the façade find their way into the frame. The room is enclosed, with no terrace: the view can be enjoyed in all weathers, and nightfall, when the MedienHafen lights up, is the best moment.

Regional cuisine with Spanish accents

The menu combines regional recipes and Spanish influences around seasonal produce, with plates to share and others to enjoy on your own. At the bar, cocktails and wines are chosen to go with the food, in a setting of green velvet, banquettes and high tables. The room can be hired in its entirety or by area (bar, lounge, restaurant) for events, and occasionally hosts exhibitions, for example during the Düsseldorf Night of the Arts.

Practical information

Open Monday to Thursday from 6pm to midnight, Friday and Saturday from 6pm to 2am; closed on Sunday. Reservations possible by telephone. Access via the lift in the lobby of the INNSiDE hotel, Speditionstraße 9. Straßenbahn Speditionstraße, a few steps away, in the heart of the MedienHafen; the Rheinturm and the Rhine promenade are about ten minutes' walk away.
