RockyPop: a pop roof terrace above Castellane
The lofty bar of a quirky hotel
Opened in summer 2025 on rue du Rouet, a few minutes' walk from place Castellane, the RockyPop hotel cultivates a colourful world steeped in pop culture references. Its bar has set up on the roof, which you can go up to without being a hotel guest: a small neighbourhood spot that draws travellers and Marseille locals stopping by for an aperitif alike.
A beach-hut setting
The red-and-white striped bar counter, decorated with lifebuoys, takes pride of place beneath yellow sails stretched over a wooden pergola. Around it, banquettes with palm-print cushions, pastel bistro chairs, bamboo in planters and vintage posters create a summery setting with around 80 seats. Rather than a sweeping panorama, it is a skyline of the neighbourhood's roofs and façades that accompanies the sunset.
Spritz, cocktails and tapas
The rooftop's menu gives pride of place to the Spritz, in peach and thyme, limoncello or bergamot versions for €12, and also served in one-litre jugs for sharing. Classic and house cocktails cost €10 to €12, and mocktails €9. To eat, guests nibble on charcuterie or cheese boards, spreads, pinsas, crispy chicken or panisses. On some evenings, a live concert livens up the terrace.
Practical information
The rooftop opens Monday to Wednesday from 5.30pm to 11.30pm and Thursday to Saturday from 5.30pm to midnight, with a daily happy hour until 7pm and tapas served from 6pm to 10pm. Opening depends on the weather and the season: in 2026, it reopened on 1 April. No need to book: the rooftop does not take reservations. Animals are not allowed, except assistance dogs. For a full meal, the brasserie and the large ground-floor terrace take over. Castellane metro (lines 1 and 2) and tram T3.
For a reasonably priced Spritz in a setting bursting with colour, the RockyPop offers a festive interlude on the rooftops of the 6th arrondissement.
