Canoe: Canadian cuisine on the 54th floor

A dining room high above the Financial District

The TD Bank Tower, one of the towers of the Toronto-Dominion Centre, stands on Wellington Street, right in the business district. Canoe has occupied its 54th floor for more than twenty-five years. Behind the large picture windows, the CN Tower seems within arm's reach, and the eye sweeps towards Lake Ontario and the downtown towers. At sunset, the dining room is bathed in golden light, then the city lights up. Window tables are allocated in order of arrival and are often taken early on busy evenings.

Produce from all over Canada

The kitchen draws on produce from Canada's provinces, following the seasons. At lunchtime, the menu offers à la carte starters and mains; in the evening, the “Taste Canoe” tasting menu costs CA$170 per person, plus CA$125 with the wine pairing. A seat at the counter facing the open kitchen, the Chef's Rail, can be booked for this menu.

The bar, for a drink with a view

The bar is a destination in its own right: house cocktails at CA$24, with Canadian spirits and flavours, and small plates to share. Walk-ins are welcome subject to availability; bar reservations are available from 6.30pm.

Practical information

Open Monday to Friday: lunch from 11.30am to 2pm, dinner from 5pm to 9.30pm, bar until 11.30pm; closed to the public on Saturday and Sunday. Online booking only, up to three months in advance and for up to twelve people. Business or smart attire recommended. Underground parking in the tower, validated free of charge on weekday evenings from 5.30pm. Prices exclude taxes and tip. King or St Andrew subway station (Line 1), a few minutes' walk away.
