Sky Bar Hostal Cuba: cocktails on a Santa Catalina rooftop

A century-old building on the edge of the liveliest neighbourhood

The Hotel Hostal Cuba occupies a corner building more than a hundred years old, with an ornate modernist façade, at the entrance to Carrer de Sant Magí. Once a boarding house for sailors and fishermen, it is now a four-star hotel, on the edge of Santa Catalina, Palma's neighbourhood of restaurants and bars, right next to the Sa Feixina park.

Its roof, on the 4th floor, holds a terrace with white furniture and wooden floors. The view is not that of a tower, but it has charm: the Bay of Palma, the masts of the marina and, between the trees, the silhouette of the Cathedral.

From breakfast to evening cocktails

In the morning, the Sky Bar serves a breakfast buffet open to all (€26 for non-guests). In the evening, it is cocktail time: house creations at €19, such as the Maó Mule with Menorcan gin or the Sunset in Cuba with bourbon and mango, great classics at €16 and cava cocktails at €15. DJs and live music often accompany the evenings, and the small terrace can be privatised for groups. For dancing afterwards, the hotel also houses a club.

Practical information

Breakfast from 8am to 11.30am. Cocktail service in the evening from 6pm, until 1.30am at the height of the season; the cocktail menu is guaranteed from March to November and hours are shorter in winter, so it is best to call before coming. The terrace is small and in high demand in summer: booking by phone advised. Relaxed dress code. The neighbourhood is difficult for parking: come on foot from the Paseo Marítimo or the centre, about twenty minutes' walk from the Cathedral.
