Montesol Rooftop: Dalt Vila opposite, above Vara de Rey

On the roof of a hotel in the centre

The Montesol Experimental looks onto the Passeig de Vara de Rey, the tree-lined promenade in the centre of Ibiza, a stone's throw from the port and the ramparts. On the ground floor, the Café Montesol sets out its terrace on the promenade; right at the top, the rooftop spreads out a terrace in lacquered red hues, furnished in white and dotted with plants. Opposite, the old town of Dalt Vila climbs its hill up to the cathedral, while the marina stretches out to the side. The scenery changes by the hour, from white façades in broad daylight to ramparts lit up at night.

Cocktails and small plates

The menu brings together signature cocktails and a few reinvented classics, at around €14 to €16, as well as sangria, wine by the glass and draught beer. On the food side, small plates to share go with the aperitif. The atmosphere stays calm, far from the buzz of the clubs, and the real show is the sunset.

Practical information

A seasonal rooftop, open every evening in the warmer months, from roughly April to the autumn, and closed in winter, when the Café Montesol takes over on the ground floor. Booking recommended for a sunset table, especially at weekends, but walk-in guests are welcome subject to availability. The roof can be booked privately for a cocktail reception or a corporate evening. Access through the hotel, Passeig de Vara de Rey 2: the port and the entrance to Dalt Vila are a few minutes' walk away.
