At the top of a hotel in Platja d'en Bossa

The Unexpected Ibiza Hotel stands on the seafront in Platja d'en Bossa, facing the Ushuaïa club, in the municipality of Sant Josep de sa Talaia, south of the town of Ibiza. Its roof, on the 9th floor, is home to an open-air bar: a long terrace of pale wood, white sofas, black fringed parasols and glass balustrades that let the eye wander out to sea. On one side, the Mediterranean and the silhouette of Formentera; on the other, Dalt Vila in the distance. Down below lies the open-air stage of Ushuaïa, which makes the place a prime vantage point on party nights, away from the crowds.

Cocktails and snacks at sunset

People come up for golden hour, signature cocktail in hand, then for the evening, when the music takes over. The menu stays short and designed for sharing, with snacks such as nachos. VIP tables can be booked to enjoy the view from the front row, and themed nights punctuate the season.

Practical information

A seasonal rooftop, open every evening from roughly April to early October; it closes around 1am, a little later on party nights. You do not need to stay at the hotel to go up. Booking recommended, online or by phone, especially for a table facing the stage. Access through the hotel, on the Platja d'en Bossa road; the centre of Ibiza can be reached by taxi or bus.
