The Gran Hotel Ciudad de México occupies an Art Nouveau building on Avenida 16 de Septiembre, on the corner of the Plaza de la Constitución; its lobby is crowned by a large, brightly coloured Art Nouveau glass canopy. The terrace restaurant is on the 5th floor. A covered section, with wooden ceilings and yellow armchairs, extends into an open gallery along a wrought-iron balustrade. Opposite, the view takes in the whole square: the cathedral and its two bell towers, the Palacio Nacional, the giant flagpole and the façades of the historic centre.

From the morning buffet to evening cocktails

In the morning, a breakfast buffet is served on weekdays and a brunch fills the weekends and public holidays. Then the Mexican menu takes over: shrimp tacos, lamb mini-flautas, guacamole, salads, salmon in pipián or pork belly in adobo, with a seasonal menu of several courses. At the bar, seasonal cocktails sit alongside the classics (mojitos, gin and tonics, piña colada, Aperol Spritz), plus mezcals, tequilas and wines.

Buffet Monday to Friday from 7am to noon (except public holidays), brunch on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays from 7am to 3pm; à la carte service Monday to Friday from noon to 11pm, at weekends from 3pm to 11pm.
