Siroco Rooftop: the Mediterranean on the roof of The Constance

A Fortitude Valley rooftop

Siroco occupies the top level of The Constance hotel, on the 6th floor, on Constance Street, a few minutes' walk from Fortitude Valley station. It has taken the place of TABOO, which had itself succeeded the Dirty Sultan. The decor has been completely redesigned in the spirit of the Mediterranean coast: sandy and neutral tones, rough stone tables, rendered walls, cushioned banquettes and linen curtains that open onto a 180-degree panorama over the Valley and the towers of the city centre. A retractable roof means the terrace can be enjoyed in fine weather as well as in the rain, and patio heaters take over on cooler evenings.

Sharing plates and signature cocktails

The cuisine, Mediterranean with Spanish and Greek touches, is shared in the centre of the table: seafood, mezze and wood-fired grills. Group menus are available from eight people, as well as a brunch on Saturdays and a lunch deal on weekdays. At the bar, around ten signature cocktails, from A$24 to A$28, sit alongside wines by the glass and local beers. DJs and musicians regularly liven up the afternoons and evenings. On the ground floor, Bar Lucé, run by the same team, welcomes guests from breakfast to evening.

Practical information

Open from Wednesday to Sunday, from noon until late; hours vary from day to day, so it is best to check before you go. Online booking recommended. Over-18s only. Smart casual dress: no caps, thongs or football jerseys. A 10% surcharge applies on Saturdays and Sundays. The rooftop can be hired for birthdays and corporate events, for up to 130 people standing.
