In the eastern part of Puerto Madero, between the old docks and the Reserva Ecológica, the Alvear Icon Hotel tower houses a fully glazed bar on its 32nd floor. You take the lift up from the hotel lobby. Up there, the decor plays on tobacco tones and golden touches: a long bar counter forms the centrepiece of the room, surrounded by low tables, leather armchairs and small, more intimate lounge areas lined up along the windows.

The river on one side, the city on the other

Depending on where you sit, the view stretches towards the Reserva Ecológica and the Río de la Plata, or plunges down onto the basins of Puerto Madero, the Puente de la Mujer and the towers of the Microcentro. Arriving a little before sunset lets you watch the sky blaze and then the city light up, docks and footbridges included.

Signature cocktails and house music

The menu showcases the bar's own creations, alongside spritzes, long drinks and a few reworked classics; wines by the glass, champagnes and whiskies complete the offer. To go with the drinks, the kitchen sends out snacks designed around mixology, such as a ceviche or pieces of sushi, as well as desserts. After dark, a DJ sets a house mood: the place is as well suited to an after-work drink as to a date for two.

Open in the evening from Tuesday to Saturday, closed on Mondays; Sunday hours should be checked.
