Fitzroy, a neighbourhood next to Melbourne's city centre, is known for its bars, vintage shops and old façades. At 285 Brunswick Street, Naked for Satan spreads over several levels: a bar on the ground floor and, at the very top, Naked in the Sky, a room that opens onto a rooftop terrace. As the neighbourhood is made up of low-rise buildings, nothing blocks the view: it sweeps over the rooftops of Fitzroy to the skyscrapers of the CBD, a sight much loved at sunset.
House vodkas and cocktails
The bar's name comes from a story the bar itself tells, that of a local bootleg distiller in the 1930s. Vodka remains the speciality: infused on site, it comes in a range of cocktails, alongside wines and beers. Food is also available. On Sundays, RnB nights liven up the rooftop.
Practical information
Open daily from noon. The rooftop can be booked online, and walk-ins are welcome subject to availability. Private events for 20 people or more. Getting there: tram 11 along Brunswick Street, from Collins Street in the city centre, or around twenty minutes' walk from the CBD.
